Distributed Is Growing: Expanded Offices, New Director of Marketing, and Electrician Apprenticeships
The solar industry continues to grow, and so are we. To accommodate our growing team as we take on bigger, more complex projects, we’ve:
● Expanded our office headquarters in Stuart, Florida
● Launched our first electrician apprenticeship program
● Hired Distributed’s first marketing director, Laura Gilman-Boutot
Designed for a mobile solar workforce operating across job sites hundreds of miles apart, our registered apprenticeship program is online, self-paced, and free to participants. Apprentice hours transfer from other programs, and workers can start logging hours from their first day on site. The program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, compliant with IRA labor standards, and currently active in New York and Florida under Distributed’s self-perform electrical division, Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
“Distributed’s electrical apprenticeship program gives me many opportunities to learn, both on and off-site, while being flexible enough for me to gain apprenticeship hours and reach my goal of becoming a journeyman,” says Carlton Tobler, a current Distributed apprentice. “It’s pushed me to not only further my career, but also grow in my own right. It’s a great chance, and if you truly apply yourself, I think you'll be amazed by the results.”
In addition to expanding its entry-level team, Distributed has also grown its leadership team. Laura Gilman-Boutot joined Distributed earlier this year as Director of Marketing, bringing extensive senior experience in public relations, partnerships, and community engagement. Previously Director of External Partnerships at a biomedical engineering firm, she was drawn to Distributed’s mission of building clean, sustainable energy.
