Featured at our Solar Farm Summit booth in Chicago, these beautiful plants were grown by students at Gary Youth School!

Nectar from these plants is turned into honey collected by The Hive, a beekeeping supply store and educational center in Chicago. With honey's sunny color and Distributed's honeycomb-like hexagon logo, we decided they'd make the perfect pair at the Solar Farm Summit.

So we partnered with The Hive to provide 1.5 oz jars of local honey, made with nectar from the student garden, for attendees. Distributed's Eli Cayer also visited the working hives seen below, complete with live bees and surrounded by flowers and herbs, for an example of nature's original solar projects

We're honored to work with local beekeepers and students growing a more sustainable future. Like our agrivoltaic projects, these flowers and honey jars show that bountiful harvests and the power of the sun go hand-in-hand.
